Hannah’s Baking
I am a scratch bakery which sets me apart from many other bakeries and grocery stores. I use only the finest ingredients and don’t add any preservatives, shelf stabilizers or articulated ingredients. All orders are made to order and at prime freshness when picked up.
All of our cakes are made from scratch therefore I do not use any preservatives or chemicals in my cake batter. Boxed cake mix uses those chemicals and heightened amounts of sugar to create a lighter and sweeter cake. Scratch made cake naturally has a denser consistency, but I think it also has a better, richer flavor!
No! The pictures on the website are examples of my past work. Please send me your inspirational photos and we can discuss. While I am happy to create items based on your inspirational photos, please keep in mind that that I am unable to exactly match another baker’s work.
No, I do not work with fondant. I use buttercream on my cakes and cupcakes.
I use a decorators buttercream, which means that I use shortening and butter to make my buttercream frosting. It’s is not overly sweet like a traditional buttercream and does not overpower my cakes.
Many of our items may be made to accommodate specific dietary requirements including dairy free, gluten free, nut free and sugar free/low sugar. However, please note that all bakery items are made on shared equipment which may include dairy, nuts, seeds, wheat, berries, etc.. All equipment is cleaned thoroughly prior to producing a product with specific dietary requirements but cross contamination can not be 100% guaranteed.
What do I do with my cake after pickup?
It is important that you take extra caution when transporting cakes or delicate items! All of our products should be kept as flat as possible when transporting. We suggest that our products be consumed within 24 hours of purchase to ensure you are getting the best quality. Any items that were refrigerated in our kitchen should be refrigerated when you get to your destination, unless you will be consuming it within a couple of hours. All products should be displayed in a cool area away from direct heat or sunlight. Take your cake out of the fridge 5-10 min before consuming.
Cakes should be held from the bottom and not by the sides of the box. They should be placed carefully on the passenger side floor of your car, or in the flat trunk of your vehicle. Seats of cars are slanted and could potentially damage a product. The car should be at a cool temperature. If it is hot outside, your car should have the a/c on and if it is cold outside, the heat should be turned off for the entire time of travel. Cakes should be kept out of direct heat or sunlight for extended periods of time.
We always make sure we are supplying you with a cold and sturdy cake or product. Once the product leaves our kitchen, we are no longer responsible for it.
All of our cakes should be refrigerated until ready to serve. If you plan to serve the product within 3 hours of pick up, it may be left out in a cool area. If you plan to serve more than 3 hours after pick up, the item should be refrigerated. Please allow 5-10 min out of the fridge for your item to come to room temperature before serving.
Every order is meant to be served on the date that it is picked up or delivered, or the following day. This is when the order is at its freshest. If you have leftovers, please wrap the item in plastic wrap or place it in an airtight container and refrigerate.
